The Road to Leadership: Mentorship and Civic Engagement for Immigrants
At CARE-Well, The Road to Leadership is part of our Mentorship and Civic Engagement Initiative, designed specifically for immigrant women and youth. This program empowers participants through community-based mentorship, leadership development, and active civic participation.
Our program offers:
Community-based mentorship tailored to the unique experiences of immigrant women and youth
Popular education on leadership, supported by peer-led learning circles
Critical dialogues addressing racism, exclusion, and systemic barriers
Civic engagement workshops focused on practical skill-building
We promote collective action to drive systemic change, centering equity, amplifying marginalized voices, and strengthening the democratic participation of newcomers and immigrants.
In partnership with local organizations, we co-deliver this initiative to support and uplift underserved communities.
Make a Difference
Support newcomers and refugee youth by offering vital language education, academic guidance, and assistance with cultural adaptation.
Build Meaningful Skills
Enhance your professional and personal growth through hands-on experience in a purposeful volunteer position.
Champion Inclusion and Equity
Play a part in advancing human rights and creating a more inclusive, supportive community for immigrants and refugees in Ottawa.
